Fold the dollar bill in half making it one half. Then fold the bill again, to make fourths.
Explain to the class that by folding the dollar again, you created fourths, or quarters. Ask, “So how many quarters are in a dollar? That’s right, four!” Then pour four quarters out of the folded bill.
