This lesson affords students an opportunity to synthesize what they have learned about the anatomy of fish with their knowledge of ocean environments and organism’s methods of adapting to survive. The problem can be expanded to include other sea creatures and environments.
The students will be able to identify pictures of animals verbally. The students will be able to match animal pictures.
Children will learn about the beach and its inhabitants – go on an imaginary field trip in the winter to cure the winter blahs.
Students draw pictures of marine life. Students work together to create a mural.
Students will use figurative language and imagery as well as characterization knowledge and higher order thinking skills.
