Our world is in danger. Pollution of the air, water, and land is rampant, overwhelming the delicate balance of nature of the planet. Many species of plants and animals face extinction at an alarming rate. Until all of the peoples of the world are educated and informed, this destruction will continue.
Students: study the life cycle of the butterfly, investigate butterflies within their state.
1. The student will read six phonograms and as a class verbally define each using the print and illustrations in the text, The Sneetches by Dr. Seuss.
2. The student will demonstrate his or her understanding of phonograms by creating additional words with the same rime (for instance -all, -ear,-and -art).
Students will read “There’s a Wocket in my Pocket” by Dr. Seuss and classify words based on rhyming.
The learner will be able to recall and spell words from the story using the phonograms: -ad, -op, -ish, -ink and -ump. The learner will be able to circle words with like phonograms.
