Insect Introduction

The students will do research and develop an informational poster on a bug.

Let’s Create An Ecosystem

Introduce students to the concept of ecosystems by allowing student to create their own ecosystem in a jar.

Raising ladybird beetles is time consuming and difficult since the larvae are active and voracious predators of aphids and scale insects. It is not recommended to try raising the beetles in the classroom without a constant source of aphids. Eggs can be placed outside on plants with aphids.

The Internal Anatomy of the Grasshopper

The students will be able to understand that the grasshopper has many important internal organs, and begin to explore their functions, through observation

Insects Throughout Time

This unit is comprised of a series of activities to have children discover the presence and importance of insects throughout history.
