Zoo for Small Creatures

The student will explore an area outside the classroom and catch various insects. After they have captured the small creatures, the children will observe what they look like and find the names of the insects in nature guidebooks. Also, the children will discover what the insects like to eat in the guidebooks. First hand observation is a wonderful teacher!

Who Lives Here?

The students will be able to identify camouflage as an example of adaptation and describe the importance of adaptations.

“What Insect Am I”

Familiarize the students with the different parts of an insect. In this one hour game, kindergarteners will use information given to them as clues from index cards to identify different types of insects placed in front of them.

Termite Trails
