Students work in pairs to use real life interests to create a wish list from catalogues and sale ads based on a given budget. This lesson gives the students math practice in the areas of addition, subtraction, and estimation with money. Practice or review simple math in a fun and magical way. Teacher will read the story “I Can Lick 30 Tigers Today!” from the Dr. Seuss book of the same title. I think that this book is easy enough for my first grade class to understand. It is also an entertaining selection. |
