To work on chasing, fleeing, and dodging during a Halloween based activity
Halloween is an exciting time for young children. Capitalize on their excitement while reinforcing color identification, holiday symbols, and language arts skills with this lesson built on the much-loved book Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr.!
In this lesson about music inspired by the spooky and bizarre, students will learn about orchestra “program music” by exploring the works of Hector Berlioz and Camille Saint-Saëns. Students will learn about Symphonie Fantastique and Danse Macabre, identify and analyze the musical terms and concepts in each piece, and then write a short story and create a class mural based on their listening experiences. To have children partake in a fun and active Halloween activity.
