Shoe Box Zoo Box

Bring a day at the zoo back home and give kids ‘paws’ for thought with their own 3D wildlife display. Open the cage on lions and tigers and bears… and watch kids go wild with new knowledge and untamed creativity.

A New Zoo Opens

Report on your favorite animals then create eye-catching zoo programs with hand-made stencils and paint rollers.

Zoo Unit

*What animals live in the zoo? Describe them in sentences; then illustrate them.
*If you were a zoo-keeper, how would you start you day?

On the Farm or at the Zoo?

In this activity, children will discuss the relationship between people and different kinds of animals. Then they will categorize animals into two groups, farm animals and zoo animals.

Zoo

Show children picture cards of zoo animals. Discuss each animal.
Ask children what size space various animals would need.
Discuss which animals would be good neighbors and which would be poor neighbors.
