Lesson Plans - December

Planning Santa’s Route

Students will calculate distance and speed to plot the most efficient course for Santa to take on Christmas Eve.

Planning a Christmas Brunch

This is a fun math activity that most of the students will be able to relate to. They may not have planned a brunch before, but they have most likely eaten one.

Mapping Santa’s Property

This activity allows students to practice their map drawing skills while using their imagination. There is no right or wrong answer as students create a map of Santa’s home, workshops, and barns.

Living at the North Pole

Students will need to figure out what they would need to survive at the North Pole for a year. Where would they live, what would they eat, and how they would stay warm.

History of the Mistletoe

We all know we want to stay out from under the mistletoe, but how many of us know how this tradition started? In this activity, students will research how that and many other Christmas traditions started.
