Character and Choices: Dickens’ A Christmas Carol

In this three week lesson, the teacher provides instruction in the basic elements of literature. By reading Dickens’ novel students are provided the opportunity to understand how their choices can change their attitudes and behavior.

Planning Santa’s Route

Students will calculate distance and speed to plot the most efficient course for Santa to take on Christmas Eve.

Living at the North Pole

Students will need to figure out what they would need to survive at the North Pole for a year. Where would they live, what would they eat, and how they would stay warm.

Christmas in America

The student will be able to create a timeline showing when major changes and additions have happened in our Christmas traditions.

Christmas around the World

Students are not often aware how Christmas is celebrated differently around the world. This project will allow students to study in-depth how other countries and cultures celebrate Christmas.
