The purpose of this lesson is to learn about an important man in history and his contribution to society. This will be a cross-curriculum lesson incorporating Social Studies, Language Arts, Math and Science. This lesson was taught over the course of four days.
Students will learn about interactions between humans and other species in a forest area.
Students will create apple tree art, then participate in computer activities related to apples and apple trees
The students will be asked what they know about trees. They will view a tree cutting and guess how old it is. After making predictions they will count the rings to verify the age of the tree. Then, the students will make tree-related art.
Students will “adopt” a tree and throughout the year will record and examine its characteristics and the changes that it goes through.
