The focus of this lesson is to teach the concept of kindness and to help children become more aware of how kind messages can be created and shared through reading, creative expression, and art.
Students create a daily calendar of events in African American history. Use the reading strategy of summarizing to understand nonfiction text. Identify and compare past and present tenses. Students will partner read a biography from a selection of well-know african-americans. -Students will list the key accomplishments of the individual and how they changed our society. -STudents will create a poster to share with others what they have learned about the contributions of these great citizens. |
