The students will learn about fall and spring through hands-on activities that connect science and language arts. Observe the different shapes, sizes, and vein patterns of leaves by using finger paints and leaf prints. Woof! Woof!: The focus of this lesson is to help children compare problem solving strategies through reading and to enjoy, in a variety of fun ways, the color of orange. Fall is almost here, and what better way to get in the swing of the season than combining math with information about harvests? If you are able to visit a pumpkin patch and bring pumpkins home, you’re in luck — there are many scientific and mathematical activities you can do with all those pumpkins! Before beginning any activities with the pumpkins we recommend putting each child’s name on his or her “personal pumpkin” with a permanent marker to eliminate any disputes about which pumpkin belongs to whom. |
