The students will recognize the chronology of Martin Luther King’s life.

The students will have an understanding of the Jim Crow laws.

The students will become familiar with the speech “I Have a Dream.”

Students will recognize how Blacks were treated during Martin Luther King’s life time.

*Students will demonstrate their understanding of civil rights.

*Students will identify ways that they can treat others more fairly, equally, and with respect.

*Students will recognize that one effective way to voice your opinion is through peaceful speeches and marches.

*Students will identify ways that they can help make Martin Luthers’ dream of peace a reality.

Home Water Audit

students will determine the water use in their home
students will understand the term water efficiency and the importance of conserving natural resources

“Water Has Many Uses”

Students will participate in several different activities in order to lean about the importance of water in our daily lives.

“Water is Life”

Students will calculate the percentage of fresh water available for human use and explain why water is a
limited resource. By estimating and calculating the percent of available fresh water on Earth, students understand
that fresh water is limited and must be conserved and protected.
