Students will “adopt” a tree and throughout the year will record and examine its characteristics and the changes that it goes through.

The ABCs of the Holocaust

Students will research sources to select words, such as terms, place names, or people names, for each letter of the alphabet to best convey the history of the Holocaust.

ABC of Endangered Species

Students create an ABC Book of Endangered Animals that includes locator maps, “fast facts,” and explanations about why those animals are endangered.

Teaching Short-Vowel Discrimination Using Dr. Seuss Rhymes

Students will: Identify rhyming words in a story, Discriminate between short u and o sounds, Produce rhyming words when given a keyword in the word family, Blend onsets and rimes aloud to create words, Sort pictures based on their rimes.
