The story of Chanukah includes the victory of the Maccabees against the Greek armies, and the oil in the menorah burning eight days instead of one. Read aloud a simple telling of the Hanukkah story and follow up with a handful of across-the-curriculum activities. # The students will be able to understand that many of the liberties we enjoy in America today were earned by the patriotism shown by veterans. |
