Lesson Plans - Language ArtsChildren collaborate to create a four-season display that illustrates the life cycle of an apple tree. Woof! Woof!: The focus of this lesson is to help children compare problem solving strategies through reading and to enjoy, in a variety of fun ways, the color of orange. If you are able to visit a pumpkin patch and bring pumpkins home, you’re in luck — there are many scientific and mathematical activities you can do with all those pumpkins! Before beginning any activities with the pumpkins we recommend putting each child’s name on his or her “personal pumpkin” with a permanent marker to eliminate any disputes about which pumpkin belongs to whom. Students create descriptive autumn similes and write them on fall-themed paper. An ideal source for an adorable bulletin board that features student work, this activity gets kids to consider “resolutions” for the new school year! |
