* Students will get to know me Whatever your goals for the first days of school, the 13 activities in today’s Education World article will help get the year off to a great start! You’re sure to find a new activity or two to use, adapt, or share. This activity encourages students to become contributing, consensus-building members of their classrooms. Children thrive in an environment where they are active participants in their learning. Working at home with their parents, students draw glimpses of their personal lives on a planning sheet, and use it in the class to create stapleless books about their lives that they then share with their classmates. By sharing information on their lives and dreams, students and teachers can build community in the classroom that will support literacy instruction throughout the school year. |
