The participation and completion of a global water crisis or water-awareness portfolio will give students
access to knowledge and awareness of current water conditions in developing nations, an increased
awareness of the need for conservation practices and the value of water as a shared global resource.
Students will participate in several different activities in order to lean about the importance of water in our daily lives.
Students will calculate the percentage of fresh water available for human use and explain why water is a
limited resource. By estimating and calculating the percent of available fresh water on Earth, students understand
that fresh water is limited and must be conserved and protected.
Students will discuss why clean water is important. Students will evaluate the “powers” needed to improve water quality around the world.
