Our Flag Throughout History

Students create a timeline of the history of the flag, which serves as a quick visual reference point for discussions of history as well as an interactive learning tool.

Peace Pledge

I used this lesson with my children after the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01. We are an upstate community of New York and have been hard hit by these horrific events. My students needed some type of pro-active activity to help them cope.

The American Flag

Students will be able to name the number of stars, the number of red stripes, the number of white stripes, and name what each represents.

Improving Elections in the United States

This lesson plan is designed to be used with the film, Election Day, which shows the experiences of a number of people in various parts of the United States on Election Day 2004.
