I used this lesson with my children after the terrorist attacks of 9/11/01. We are an upstate community of New York and have been hard hit by these horrific events. My students needed some type of pro-active activity to help them cope.

Students will be able to name the number of stars, the number of red stripes, the number of white stripes, and name what each represents. This lesson plan is designed to be used with the film, Election Day, which shows the experiences of a number of people in various parts of the United States on Election Day 2004.
