AIDS in Africa I: The Scope of the Problem
Students will
* locate Africa on a map of the world and find various countries on a map of Africa;
* develop their Internet search skills;
* develop their math skills by figuring ratios and percentages;
* apply math skills to social problems;
* make quantifiable distinctions about the impact of HIV/AIDS in Africa and the United States; and
* list several social and scientific reasons for the disparity.
